DIRTY DEAD BIO FOR WNC REGION

Dirty Dead is a Grateful Dead / Jerry Garcia Band tribute band from Asheville, NC.  The group creates fresh, new versions of the classic Dead tunes.  Bringing in funk, reggae, hard rock, country, jazz flute and almost anything new and different, DD causes a ruckus with their new sound.

Yet their roots to the music that Jerry and the Dead fostered is palpable.  Dirty Dead's performances strive for the same energy of improvisation to 'bring out their dead' vibe.

The band is becoming known for its open, GD family vibe.  They frequently welcome awesome talent to the stage to join the band for their epic sets.  Since their first performance in September of 2016, the group has built a strong following.

Dirty Dead have performed at numerous festivals as well as great regional WNC venues:  Salvage Station, The Grey Eagle, Soulshine Music Festival, Silverados, Asheville Music Hall, Highland Brewing Company, Altamont Theater, The One Stop, Ambrose West, Chico Feo, Gottrocks, Scruffy City Hall, Joey Times Reunion, Upcountry Brewing, One World Brewing and The Bywater.  They also enjoy performing in intimate venues like The Town Pump, The Root Bar, Burger Bar and Big Pillow Brewing in Hot Springs NC.

The band has also toured the Carolina Beach NC three years running ('21-'23), and Folly Beach in 2018 and 2019.  They also frequently appear in Greenville SC, Knoxville TN and Johnson City TN and all points between.

BIO FOR DIRTY DAWG (DUO) NATIONAL

Asheville NC's Dirty Dawg are an acoustic trio, recreating the sound and spirit of Jerry Garcia & David Grisman's work together.  They play songs from the Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia set-lists, using unique instruments like flute and violin in addition to their guitar duo set-up.  Unique with their Southern charm and approach, this duo of Paul DeCirce & Alex Ball have been playing intimate venues and listening rooms all through North Carolina, Tennessee and South Carolina.

Some of their highlights include flute re-arrangements of Django Rheinhardt style jazz, flute solos of “Russian Lullaby,” and include their own originals as well as music from Dire Straits, Rolling Stones, Taj Mahal, Ben Harper, Bob Marley and much more besides the expanded Grateful Dead catalog.
